There only in the Netherlands, Pyramid Made of Books!

Rotterdam - pyramid-shaped building not only in Giza, or Paris which is the roof of the Louvre Museum. In Rotterdam, the Netherlands there is a pyramid consisting of five floors bookshelf. The only one in the world!


Rotterdam is a major city in the Netherlands are well known by the richness of its architecture. Bibliotheek Spijkenisse is one of the proofs, the library had a giant pyramid made of books.

Citing the official website Bibliotheek Spijkenisse, Thursday (12/03/2015), the pyramid consists of 5 floors bookshelf connected by stairs with a total length of 480 meters. This pyramid is also often called 'Mountain of Books', and located in a building surrounded by glass so obvious from the outside.

The building was designed by three architects who are members of MVRDV, which Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. Besides the pyramids of books, the building also has Education Center, auditorium, meeting rooms, offices and shops.

Not surprisingly, the library became one of the tourist destinations especially for those book lovers. Besides Rotterdam, City of Maastricht, located in the south of the Netherlands also has a unique library and bookstore located in the church.
